Military family life presents unique challengers to families, including frequent relocation and extended family separation. These challengers may require special attention to protect individuals and families who may be particularly vulnerable. Education and supportive community evolvement help to minimize the impact of these stressors.

Services available include:

  • Education & Prevention
  • Self-Help Groups
  • Assessment & Referral
  • Short-Term Intervention & Crisis Support

Stacey Routh- Social Worker

Stacey has worked in the NICU at Women’s College and The Hospital for Sick Children. She recently worked at KGH in Pediatric Oncology and Teen Obstetrics.

“ I aim to support families through loss with counselling and support with a focus on Family Centered Care. I have a strong sense of what the Kingston community can offer as I have lived here on and off for 7 years. As a result I have a concrete knowledge of referral sources. “

The KMFRC can provide brief counselling (up to 8 sessions) to assist with a particular crisis or problem that is affecting the family. This service is available for children, adolescents and adults who are affiliated with a CF member for individual and/or family therapy. For more information, or to schedule an appointment contact us at (613) 541 - 5010 ext 5195.
