Deployed families are asked to come out and join us for dinner, afterwards the children can have some fun in our Playroom and Teen Centre while the parents go and enjoy a movie at the Wallis Theatre. Registration Deadline: Friday prior to activity.

EMERGENCY CHILD CARE

SPOUSAL BATTLEMIND
This reunification briefing is available for military spouses with a loved one returning from Afghanistan. This program looks at the challenges of a military member coming home and offers some insight and strategies to ease the transition. If interested please contact Miriam or Dana to book an appointment.

Relationship Skills for CF Couples (BRT)
Twelve hours towards a great relationship! Whether you are happily married, living common-law, about to make a commitment to your partner,
or experiencing a major life transition that impacts your relationship - BASIC RELATIONSHIP TRAINING (BRT) may
be for you. BRT is NOT counselling!

VIDEO CONFERENCE SERVICE
Now you can see and talk to your loved one serving in Afghanistan! A new addition to the support the KMFRC offers to deployed families is the use of a video-conference system. This is a great way for families to keep connected. Contact us for more information.

TOOLS FOR DEPLOYED FAMILIES
With the assistance of volunteer Nancy Craig, R.N., the KMFRC has created two
new tools for parents, caregivers, teachers and health care professionals working
with children of CF members. The first is
a brochure that identifies potentially challenging situations, some common reactions of children and a few examples
of how parents and children can work together to address challenges to
resilience.

Note: These tools are currently only available in English. Family Coping Wheel now available!

CRISIS COUNSELLING
Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30 pm
Counselling for military families, individual, child, adolescent and couples. Up to a maximum of 8 sessions. Referrals to assisting community organizations.
